In order to offer facilities to young people with motor, visual or hearing disabilities who aspire to higher education, it was considered pertinent to establish the following procedure:

  • Fill out the career application form, taking into account the ideal requirements for the performance of the profession in correspondence with your disability.
  • Take the entrance exams and pass each of them with a minimum of sixty points (60).
  • Young people coming from the pre-university source will be able to apply for the careers that are offered for this education. They will obtain the career as long as they take the regulatory entrance exams and obtain sixty points (60), or more, in each one of them.
  • In the granting process, these young people will compete with each other, and, if necessary, places will be created according to the capacities of the universities and after hearing the opinion of the Directorate of Admissions of the Ministry of Higher Education. Those who fail will have a new opportunity in the following course.
  • Those who meet the established requirements and are endorsed by their provincial associations: Association for the Blind, Association for the Deaf and Association for Physically Motor Limited may apply for the places offered for this entry route.
  • The Provincial Admissions Commission will be responsible for providing special treatment during the exam to all applicants whose disability requires it:

       1. Individualize the cases in an easily accessible location with adequate conditions.

       2. For blind students, with low vision and with severe motor difficulties, teachers will be assigned to transcribe the tests from the dictation of the answers made by the student himself.  In the case of the deaf or hard of hearing, communication will be established through the sign language interpreter, and they will be exempt from Spanish dictation.

      3. Students who are blind or have low vision will be exempt from the geometry question in the space of the Mathematics exam.

      4. If the student needs more time due to the characteristics of his disability, the duration of the exam will be extended.

      5. In no case will the presence of parents, relatives, teachers or any other person not involved in this process be allowed in the examination room.
